The GWT simulates three-dimensional transport of single chemical species in fowing groundwater based on generalized control-volume fnite-difference approach. Although each is only able to represent species, multiple Models may be invoked within 6 simulation solute non-interacting species. designed work with the Flow (GWF) 6, which transient, fow. version model documented here must use same spatial discretization used by GWF Model; however, that can represented regular grids consisting layers, rows, columns, or more general unstructured grids. (1) advective transport, (2) combined hydrodynamic dispersion processes velocity-dependent mechanical molecular diffusion, (3) adsorption absorption (collectively referred as sorption) solutes aquifer matrix, (4) transfer between mobile domain one immobile domains, (5) frst-or zero-order decay production, (6) mixing from sources sinks, (7) direct addition mass. also through advanced package features, such streams, lakes, multi-aquifer wells, unsaturated zone. If application uses Water Mover (MVR) Package connect fow packages, then these packages represented. described this have been implemented fully implicit manner are solved system equations using iterative numerical methods. present does not an option calculate steady-state solutions; if solution required, transient evolution time steps until no further changes concentrations detected.

PHT3D – A MODFLOW/MT3DMS-based reactive multi-component transport model
PHT3D, a three-dimensional, MODFLOW/MT3DMS-based reactive multicomponent transport model is presented. The model couples, via an operator-splitting method, the transport simulator MT3DMS (Zheng and Wang, 1998) and the geochemical package PHREEQC-2 (Parkhurst and Appelo, 1999). Through the flexible, generic nature of PHREEQC-2, PHT3D can handle a broad range of equilibrium and kinetic reactive p...
متن کاملModflow/mt3dms-based Simulation of Variable- Density Groundwater Flow with Simultaneous Heat and Solute Transport
SEAWAT is a finite-difference computer code designed to simulate coupled variabledensity ground water flow and solute transport. This paper describes a new version of SEAWAT that adds the ability to simultaneously model energy and solute transport. This is necessary for simulating the transport of heat and salinity in coastal aquifers for example. This work extends the equation of state for flu...
متن کاملModeling surface water-groundwater interaction with MODFLOW: some considerations.
The accuracy with which MODFLOW simulates surface water-groundwater interaction is examined for connected and disconnected losing streams. We compare the effect of different vertical and horizontal discretization within MODFLOW and also compare MODFLOW simulations with those produced by HydroGeoSphere. HydroGeoSphere is able to simulate both saturated and unsaturated flow, as well as surface wa...

Lack of the proper conjunctive use of surface and groundwater resources causes large water stresses in one of these resources. Conjunctive use of surface and groundwater, especially in arid and semi-arid regions, is a scientific and practical solution for sustainable water resources management. The aim of this research was to prepare some mathematical modeling to apply the conjunctive use of su...
